Ayurvedic Yoga Massage

  • Pregnancy

AYM for pregnancy is only offered by therapists who have undertaken additional learning to ensure a safe, effective and tailored treatment to wherever you are in your journey. You can expect your therapist to work with you from a side lying position, supporting your body with cushions, blankets and other props, enabling you to surrender in complete comfort.

  • Deep Tissue

AYM is a floor based treatment, in which our therapists use their hands, forearms, and feet where required to administer the required and/or desired amount of pressure. Alongside the use of an Ayurvedic powder, enabling a firmer touch we are able to offer a level of pressure other styles of massage often cannot.

  • Remedial

Using our clients health and movement history, all of our massages are tailored to the individual and their needs. However, if you are suffering from chronic pain or injury our therapists are able to spend the session focused on this area, and or, recommend an appropriate tretament plan.

  • Relaxing

AYM is fantastic for helping with improved sleep, digestion, reducing stress and anxiety, inducing a state of deep relaxation, and improving your overall sense of wellbeing and energy. If your overall goal is relaxation we may massage the whole body using firm or gentle strokes (your preference!) and encourage a more silent approach to allow you to truly switch off.

Other Specialties

  • Reflexology

Reflexology is an instantly relaxing and soothing therapy that soothes symptoms including anxiety, headaches, hormone imbalances and digestive problems. It is a non-invasive pressure therapy performed on the feet and hands. Though there are some massage movements involved, as reflexology is primarily a pressure technique so we will be pressing all around your foot.

It is based on the theory that there are 10 longitudinal zones in the body, which are anatomically mapped on the feet and hands, and that by applying pressure to certain points on the feet and hands- known as reflexes, this can bring about a response in the corresponding part of the body.

The aim of reflexology is to help to put the body in the optimum condition to heal itself, and to restore balance and wellbeing: thereby helping to prevent illness and boost natural energy levels. There are over 7,300 nerve endings in the feet so reflexology treatments are very soothing and deeply relaxing for the nervous system.

  • shirodhara

Shirodhara is an ayurvedic treatment that dates back thousands of years which involves gently pouring warm liquids in a stream over the head for a fixed duration of time. The Shirodhara procedure induces a relaxed nervous system that results in a dynamic psycho-somatic balance.

You will be asked to lay down on a massage table, and your eyes will be covered. A metal or clay vessel is suspended directly above the forehead and the Shirodhara process starts with pouring of herbal oils or specially mediated liquids in a steady stream on to the forehead in a gentle manner. It is often paired with a head and body massage performed alongside Shirodhara.

Shirodhara is widely acclaimed for its many health benefits which better the mind and body, the most popular being its deeply relaxing properties and its ability to promote better sleep and enhance sleep quality. This process helps soothe the hypothalamus, which activates the pituitary gland. It also aids in reducing elevated serotonin levels and stress hormones which in turn, help to manage stress– it can effectively help resolve insomnia in this manner.
